Executive Advisory, Coaching, and
Leadership Development

The leaders who shape your organization
deserve more than generic development.

Senior-level advisory, coaching, and leadership development for executives and organizations ready to operate at a higher level.

With more than 25 years of experience, Kelly Byrnes works directly with leaders on the work that matters most.

01

Executive Advisory

Some of the most consequential work a CEO, owner, or board undertakes doesn't fit neatly into a coaching engagement. Succession planning. Clarifying vision, mission, and purpose. Strategic direction. Senior team alignment. These are high-stakes initiatives where the thinking itself is the work, and having a trusted advisor in the room changes the quality of the outcome.

Executive Advisory engagements are project-based, built around a specific initiative you're navigating. Kelly brings perspective drawn from nearly three decades of senior-level work, asks the questions that move thinking forward, and facilitates the conversations your leadership team needs to have. You make the decisions. The advisory relationship ensures they're the right ones.

This work fits when:

  • You're working through succession and need a structured, objective process to prepare the right leaders

  • Your vision, mission, or purpose needs to be clarified or rebuilt to reflect where the organization is headed

  • You're setting or resetting strategic direction and want a senior advisor in the room, not just a facilitator

  • Your senior team needs to align around priorities, roles, or a critical decision and an outside voice would help

  • You've completed a culture or organizational assessment and need help translating findings into leadership action

02

Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching is a focused, individual relationship. It's designed for leaders who are ready to grow into the full demands of their role — whether that means strengthening their influence, navigating a significant transition, or addressing the blind spots that are limiting their impact.

Engagements are structured around your situation, either as an ongoing advisory relationship or a defined engagement with a clear goal. Both are built around you, your organization, and what you're actually navigating. VCG works with company-sponsored leaders and self-sponsored leaders.

Leaders come to this work when:

  • A C-suite leader, founder, or owner is ready to strengthen their influence, executive presence, or decision-making

  • A new executive is stepping into a bigger role and wants to perform well from day one

  • An introverted or reluctant leader is ready to grow into the influence their position requires

  • A board or CEO is investing in succession, preparing high-potential direct reports to be genuinely ready

  • A senior team's dynamic has shifted, creating trust gaps, silos, or inconsistent results

  • A leader is burned out and needs to realign their work with their values and their vision for where they're headed

What clients experience: Career pivots. Promotions. Burnout recovery. Stronger teams. Clearer direction. The outcomes vary, but the common thread is leaders who leave this work more capable and more confident than when they came in.

Leadership Development Programs

Strong executives need strong teams around them. Leadership development at VCG is designed to build that, from the senior leadership team down through the layers of management that determine how your culture actually operates day to day.

Programs are built two ways, and both are designed to integrate into real work rather than pull people away from it.

Private programs for your organization

A fully customized engagement built around your company, your goals, and the challenges your leaders are facing. Leaders at every level receive the same core philosophies — delivered in ways appropriate to their role — which unifies your culture, simplifies management, and reduces the friction that leads to turnover.

Open programs hosted by VCG

Throughout the year, VCG hosts leadership development programs open to clients, alumni, and peers. Designed for organizations that want ongoing development without a full-year engagement, and for leaders who value learning alongside peers from other industries. Invitations go to the VCG community.

"Having Kelly join the board has been a game-changer. She challenges the status quo to stretch our thinking, solves complex problems with precision, and leads by example rather than just talking about it. I've watched her run engaging development sessions, navigate difficult situations with professionalism, and apply strategic thinking that has meaningfully supported our growth. Kelly makes organizations, people, and communities better. "

"Kelly blends the humanistic encouragement and skilled candor perfectly in her coaching style. This style is effective - she does not only helps me become more self-assured and more intentional in leveraging my strengths, but also challenges me to ask myself hard questions and confront my blind spots. "

Monica W.

Vice President, Client Dev

"My leadership skills have emerged through a program that has meaningfully increased how we interact and collaborate across Research Operations and Mission Support. I've observed staff in both groups applying new skills and sharpening existing ones — and the leadership discussions have opened up communication in ways we hadn't seen in years. It's a real pleasure watching veteran staff grow alongside younger staff who are developing the skills that will carry us forward.
