About Our Clients
Our Clients
The leaders who call us are already good at what they do.
They are not looking for a turnaround. They are looking for the clarity, alignment, and structure to operate at the level their business demands right now.
VCG works with senior leaders, executives, and business owners across industries, from healthcare and financial services to science, technology, construction, and higher education. Our clients range from recently founded companies to century-old institutions, from standalone businesses to divisions of large corporations. What they share is not their size or sector. It is the standard they hold for how their organization should operate.
Who engages VCG
For Executive Leadership Services, which includes executive advisory, coaching and leadership development, our clients tend to be left-brain leaders. Engineers, scientists, finance executives, and systems thinkers who have spent 15 or more years building expertise in their field.
They come to VCG when the people side of leadership, retention, communication, trust, and culture, is the variable affecting their outcomes. They want to get better at it. They are ready to focus.
For culture and leadership work, our clients are companies under real pressure. They have grown, shifted, or been disrupted in ways that exposed gaps in how they operate, not in their strategy, but in how leadership functions, how decisions get made, and how their culture supports or undermines performance.
They know the old approaches are not enough. They are ready to do the harder work of actually evolving.
For AI Leadership, Oversight, and Governance, our clients are boards, founders, and leadership teams who are serious about governing AI adoption before it creates exposure.
They want a structured framework, clear accountability, and a governance posture that reflects how the organization actually operates.
Who is not a fit
Leaders holding hard to outdated practices are not a fit. Neither are organizations willing to sacrifice employees or customers to satisfy investors. There is no need to harm one stakeholder to deliver for another, and VCG does not help companies do it.
One more thing: people who hate dogs aren’t a fit for us. We’re all about dogs. We tolerate cats and happily work with feline fans.
A partial roster of organizations served
VCG has worked with organizations across financial services, healthcare, science and technology, higher education, and professional services — from Fortune 500 companies to founder-led firms.
Clients on the work
"Kelly knows how business works. So you can rest easy knowing that her approach is realistic. Kelly was able to help me navigate around the pitfalls of dealing with troubled employees. Kelly did more than just listen—she gave me a different perspective on the situation and had an effective way to change the problem. She knows what motivates people and how to inspire fresh thinking. Since then, I’ve found myself consulting my notes from her coaching sessions for advice. Truly worthwhile stuff. "
Mark B.

"The continued leadership development engagement with Kelly has really helped keep the leadership practices and skills we have learned at the forefront of our daily activities. It is also creates an awareness and understanding of the leadership responsibilities all staff have, regardless of their level.
Joe B.
Vice President, Operations, Research Organization
"My leadership skills have emerged through a program that has meaningfully increased how we interact and collaborate across Research Operations and Mission Support. I've observed staff in both groups applying new skills and sharpening existing ones — and the leadership discussions have opened up communication in ways we hadn't seen in years. It's a real pleasure watching veteran staff grow alongside younger staff who are developing the skills that will carry us forward.

"I feel more connected to the people in my group and more in tune with their unique qualities, which require different management styles with each. Kelly's LD program has equipped me with knowledge and tools for addressing a variety of management and/or personnel issues. So many of us appreciate the company's investment in the LD program!!!

"As time progressed, it became clear that despite my countless presentations on nonprofit topics, I felt ill-equipped to deliver the caliber of experience that I hoped for. Thankfully my Executive Coach, Kelly Byrnes, helped me create a framework that underpinned the points I wanted to deliver to the audience. Although she couldn't be present, her presence was felt as the hours of practice and revisions paid off. Thank you Kelly! "
Sidney S.

"Kelly blends the humanistic encouragement and skilled candor perfectly in her coaching style. This style is effective - she does not only helps me become more self-assured and more intentional in leveraging my strengths, but also challenges me to ask myself hard questions and confront my blind spots. "
Monica W.

"Kelly was kind, encouraging, and helped me gain new insights into possibilities for my future. With her wisdom and guidance, I have been able to identify and articulate my goals, creating a stepwise plan to achieve them. Kelly is an excellent coach! She listens empathetically and asks probing questions to promote new ways of thinking. She consistently exhibits compassion and encourages her clients, yet successfully helps them create new opportunities. "

"Kelly is an enormous asset to any organization she works with. She has a successful track record and a broader range of application than most — I have watched her transform a room of resistant participants into fully engaged, enthusiastic leaders. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond her own work into her constant support of those around her. History has shown me that she will make anything she pursues an opportunity to excel. "
Cindy S.

"Kelly understands that in today's world, when almost everything you do can be copied by your competitors, it is your people that provide the competitive advantage. She is a high trust leader that knows how to develop leaders and a workforce like few others do. What an amazing person! "

"Having Kelly join the board has been a game-changer. She challenges the status quo to stretch our thinking, solves complex problems with precision, and leads by example rather than just talking about it. I've watched her run engaging development sessions, navigate difficult situations with professionalism, and apply strategic thinking that has meaningfully supported our growth. Kelly makes organizations, people, and communities better. "
