Kelly Byrnes brings to Voyage Consulting Group a diverse career as an employee and consultant in human resources, strategic planning, operations, and marketing for large and mid-sized companies in Science and technology, advertising and marketing, financial services, and consumer products. She has helped improve financial performance through integrated comprehensive leadership development programs, employee engagement practices, culture improvements, and other company-wide initiatives.

She is an adjunct professor in the MBA and undergrad programs for Rockhurst University and chairs the workforce advisory board for the University of Kansas Edwards Campus. She also is an author, professional speaker, and member of the Forbes Coaches Council.

Kelly’s undergraduate work in history and business at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame and her graduate work (MBA) at Rockhurst University laid the groundwork for her diverse career path and sparked her interest in leadership behaviors in business. On a personal note, Kelly is married to Bob. They enjoy spending time with their daughter in Montana, gathering with family in Kansas City and Pittsburgh, and cheering for the Notre Dame football team and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. 

Ann Hackett, PhD

Ann Hackett is a seasoned executive who has built leading Talent Management organizations in Fortune 500 companies in Communications, High Tech, Consumer Products, Hospitality, Financial Services, and Consulting industries. She spent ten years with one of the largest consulting firms in the world where she managed large scale human performance initiatives.

Ann’s got game! She has established and executed multi-year talent strategies and provided executive leadership for talent management including learning and development, organizational effectiveness, and talent acquisition for over 100,000 associates. Plus, Ann has led the multi-year introduction and upgrade of learning, performance, and talent acquisition systems, processes, and programs.

Not only is she experienced, Ann is educated as well. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University.  Ann currently serves as an Executive Coach for the Bloch Executive MBA program.   On a personal note, Ann, her husband and two children are enjoying life in the Kansas City area.  They recently added a dog to their family and are having a lot of fun with their new furry addition.

Cheryl Benedict
Leadership Development and Succession Planning Coach

Cheryl Benedict is committed to inspiring clients to think creatively and make distinctive, enduring and significant improvements to their lives and the leaders in their firm. Her work with engineering, architect, construction firms has included the design and delivery of leadership development programs, emerging leaders programs, team building, board development, individual and team assessment, executive coaching, succession planning and implementation.  

Cheryl specializes in coaching leaders and their teams through an effective focus on the people side of the business.  Cheryl is an expert in the use of numerous assessment instruments and cultivates trust with clients to create environments that foster teamwork, innovation and exceptional leadership.

For Colorado’s Foundation for Water Education, Cheryl both designed and delivered the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 ‘Water Leaders Program’ which offers water professionals the opportunity to develop their leadership potential. The Water Leaders benefit from extensive self-assessment, executive coaching, and Cheryl’s highly interactive leadership training approach.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She received a Master Certificate in Human Resource Management from Villanova University.

Cheryl is a certified executive coach with certifications in 14 assessments, including the Myers-Briggs Type II Indicator, Harrison Assessment and the Center for Creative Leadership’s Benchmarks,  to name a few. On a personal note, Cheryl and her husband, Paul, are living the dream on the side of a mountain in Evergreen, CO where their nearest neighbors are a den of foxes.

Tammy Ogren, PhD, MBA
Operations and Organization Effectiveness

Tammy Ogren has started and managed a variety of businesses in her 30+ years of leading and growing companies. Her primary expertise is in operations, having held lead operations roles in education research and consulting firms. Tammy has a special ability of balancing her practical and application-focused approach with her passion of helping companies grow through leadership development.

Tammy is keenly focused on leadership development, and she walks the talk. In 2016, Tammy earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology from Northcentral University, AZ. Her dissertation was about leadership and collaboration of virtual teams—ask her about it if you want to improve performance across the miles.

Since 2009, Tammy has been a business consultant and an adjunct professor who teaches business courses from undergrad through MBA programs. Both roles benefit from her unique ability is of bringing complex issues to simple practices that work in the daily grind. She is an operations leader who believes that while strategy may be developed in the boardroom, it comes to life in the hallways at work. 

Plus, Tammy has lived the entrepreneurial pursuit and keenly understands individual passion to build and grow, both in life and in business. Tammy bought Spicy Guys, a snack food wholesale company, in 2014 and runs it “on the side.” Her little side project sells a spicy pretzel snack in 180 retail locations in 5 states. Clearly, Tammy pursues life with gusto!

As part of the Voyage Consulting Group team, John collaborates on strategic messaging for your internal and needs. From employee engagement to your current clients or new markets, John can help you develop and execute effective multi-channel messaging strategies.

John believes, no matter the scope of a project or the marketing channels used, success depends on developing a genuine understanding of the behavioral triggers and emotional insights that characterize your target audiences. John knows how to enlist researchers, strategists and creatives to ensure you can deliver the right message to the right people at the right time.

John can also help you optimize your creative development processes, and refine your creative and strategic briefs to ensure you get the best work from your resources no matter if its an internal group or an agency team.

John earned his BA in History and English from Tufts University near Boston, MA. He earned a Masters in Education from Mercy College in New York. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his lovely wife, Peggy, and their two children.
